Hi Carol

You can post to your own wall whenever you have something to say, or post to someone else's wall to say something to them, because if you just 'reply' to a post on your or someone else's wall, I'm not sure they get notified, so unless they're reading your wall, they may not know you wrote.

You can also start or reply to a discussion using the 'talks' link all the way at the top of the page in the blue band to the left of the search box.
