Artisan Southwest

Welcome to my blog exploring the many different foodie Artisan crafts. If, like me, you’ve often dreamed in an idle moment about giving up the rat race to bake bread, cure and smoke meats, make cheese, brew beer, wine, cider, roast coffee etc, etc, (the list goes on), not just for fun but as a full time career then I hope that you’ll find this blog of interest.
I’ve persuaded a growing numbers of Artisans, experts in their respective fields, to open their doors to me and let me understand what it’s like to transform your passion, perhaps your obsession even, into a full time job. I want to understand not only the skills involved in their craft, but also the hard nosed reality of making a living in the 21st century in your chosen foodie dream.
I've also been invited to join a number of workshops designed to share these skills, so I also write about them here.
