I’m a struggling-to-remain-sane stay-at-home Mom of teenagers who found, quite by accident, that baking relieves stress. Now I’ve started blogging. Blogging has given me a place to use my sarcastic sense of humor. It seems that venting relieves stress as well. I post pictures of my baking and, per requests, recipes.

There are so many ways to follow people and each mean something different. I'll follow someone's blog because I like it and don't want to miss a post. Follow back is irrelevant.
But when I follow someone on FB or twitter, I'm looking to interact. If I reach out a few times and don't get a follow back and ...

Your second pet peeve is another one of mine (boy am I getting grouchy). I have Comment Moderation on my blog. If you comment on the content of my post, I'll approve your comment, even with a link. If you're just using the opportunity to leave a link without a thoughtful comment, DELETE.

I, like you, have made a progression. When I first got on here I even posted a "lets follow each other" talk here. I too did the blog hops.

I think staying true to your own voice is the single most important thing we can do, as long as we're open to the fact that we are constantly growing and changing and therefore what we have to say may change too.

I've found that the best way to grow my audience is to use social media to make connections with ...

I'm with you on the issue of wanting followers who want to read my posts and interact. But I do care about quantity as well. I don't do any ads on my blog, but I certainly do want to grow it and to widen my circle.

I too blog for therapeutic reason, Natasha, so I get that. I do, however, enjoy building a community of people who read each other and help each other to grow and change. I love that you are open to all kinds of blogs and bloggers.

I agree. I do read all kinds of blogs because you never know when something someone says might appeal to you or even help you in some way, but I also want blogging buddies not fake followers.

I think that's the consensus of opinion, that there are better ways to expand your readership.

I think we all decide which bloggers we can best relate to, and that SHOULD be how we decide who to follow.

I would rather have 1000 readers and no followers too, so I understand, completely, what you're saying.

About my blog; trying not to get my feelings hurt. About yours; from your description it seems you have fairly diverse interests. You never know what might amuse you, even when you least expect it. I have ...
