I am a rookie wife & HIV researcher who (somehow) justified that adding a Ph.D to the mix was a good idea. When I'm not fighting small kitchen fires, hot glue gunning my fingers together on DYI projects, or contemplating my perpetual student status, I'm churning up all sorts of crazy in the lab.

Some people don't consider what I do to be sexy, but I find that the occasional STD discussion over dinner is rather romantic.

I have a weird attraction to the feel of hand sanitizing foam and I may or may not be addicted to chocolate. Animal welfare is my weakness. I'm pretty sure I'm two scooby snacks and one pet seatbelt short of becoming the crazy dog lady. The thought of pulling cotton out of a medicine bottle or writing on a chalkboard gives me the heebie jeebies.

I'm from the south, but somehow ended up in DC. You know I like my chicken fried, cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fit just right, and the radio up. Some of you don't know what I'm talking about. It's ok.. me either.

I have a bad tendency to ramble to myself. People probably make the assumption that my elevator doesn't quite get to the top floor anyways (if ya know what I mean), so I might as well parade this hot mess around for everyone to see.
