I hope you won't be offended with my querry. But how do you
feel about the HOLOCAUST? Germany is always tainted when HITLER is mentioned. How do you relate with HItler-was he really patriotic or simply
a madman?
And I'm just curious if Germans are encouraged to marry Jews and vice versa. After all, World War 11 has long since gone so it's time to bury the hatchet.
But still, you can't totally erase or eradicate a painful past.

Ah well, where should I begin. I am always a little shocked when people still think Germans glorify Hitler or that we are still Nazis.
For my generation, the National Socialism is a big black period in German history and it is shocking and unbelievable, more than words can say, that such a thing like the holocaust could happen. But of course, as you said, you can't eradicate such a painful past, that's why Germans are still very careful about things like patriotism, actually I wrote a post about that.
Hitler wasn't just patriotic and saying that he was just a madman is simply an understatement.
About marrying Jews, I don't think that's an issue, I think for Germans nowadays it is the same as for every other nation.
