I've had a bit of angst and apprehension combined concerning my high school reunion. On our first ten-year anniversary, I had skipped the
event because I didn't feel accomplished enough and had made some serious blunders in my career choices. You see, my high school yearbook bespeaks of my ambition then as a future lawyer.
I did go to law school for three horrifying years and ended up with nothing. I never got to finish the degree and worst, my father died heartbroken that the daughter he prided on couldn't be a lawyer-after all his sacrifices.
I ended up being a school teacher and I believe God put me in that profession because I was way "too honest" to be in the legal world.
Looking back , I feel I have missed seeing my other batch mates, especially those belonging to the same section as me.Some of them have successfully marched on to their respective careers and others have started their own families.
Maybe next reunion, I would be more boldly courageous in attending it because by then I will have finished my master's and gladly taken on a blissful marriage of my own.
