I totally agree!
It makes me happy when commenters say something that opens up a dialogue, or when they ask questions. I like to reply to all of the comments on my blog, so I like when something is said that I can easily respond to ^^

I've toned mine down a lot since I've started, but I suppose that it's still a bit more on the decorative side. However, I find myself drawn more to blogs with minimalistic design, as it can be less overwhelming to look at and easier to navigate.
