Ray Bonnell
I am a free-lance artist specializing in pen and ink drawings, mainly of old equipment, historic structures, and other culturally significant sites. My home is in Fairbanks, the Golden Heart of Alaska. For 30 years I have been tramping the back roads of Interior Alaska, documenting its mining camps, homesteads, cemeteries and other sites before time, vandals and development erase them from the landscape. Recently I have also been writing a column in my local newspaper about historic sites around Interior Alaska. In 2011 I received the Alaska Historical Society's "Significant Contributions to Alaska History" award.
