Spirituality Ireland is a site that aims to encourage discussion and debate around Spirituality in Ireland and abroad. While we recognise that it is hard to define Spirituality we are willing to accept all definitions and none of this. We are willing to discuss religious, humanistic, agnostic and other views and of course those with no views on spirituality.

One definition of Spirituality we do like though, is “preoccupation with what concerns human inner nature” or “Socrates’ inwardness, integrity, and inquisitiveness”- H.R. Finch.

As you may have guessed from the title we are based in Ireland, but we are open to contributions from abroad and we look forward to discussing these issues with you.

I am assuming you are using the word “ spirituality “ in the context of religion or religious beliefs. I was born in the R. of I. and raised as a Catholic, but have changed my religious beliefs over the past 30 years whilst I have lived in the UK. I believe the main Christian churches teach a false Christianity that contradicts the Bible with teachings like: man has an immortal soul; God runs a torture place called hell; there is immediate judgement on death; and the object of salvation is to get to heaven etc..
