I'm Chris Canavan and I'm the administrator of StateoftheSport.com as well as the primary author. I am based out of Denver and have been a sports fan for most of my life. I spent a decade playing both football and baseball. I played football in college at the Division II level so naturally this is where my expertise lies. I've played a number different sports from all seasons and write about anything that strikes me as important or fun.

I like conversations. Talking sports is what StateoftheSport.com is all about. I want to have intelligent conversations about the top stories in the sporting world. I have strong opinions, as do all of our writers, and I welcome other views. Leave intelligent comments and get intelligent responses. I can't stand ignorant arguments that have no logic behind them and the obscenity laced outburst from other sites. I try to discourage both and focus on the conversation and have good back and forth dialogue.
