I'm starting to think that the vast majority of people here come here just to spam links. And have no real interest in improving their blog or gaining more exposure.

In my opinion...if you're going to go the route of having your own domain you should get your own hosting for it. Hosting really isn't very expensive. And it's a lot cheaper than what Wordpress.com charges ( not sure about Blogger ).

Hosting your own domain on your own hosting also allows you full control ...

The sad fact is you can't stop it. You can prevent ' bots ' to an extent by adding security measures. But bots are constantly updating and circumventing these measures, so you have to keep on top of it.
Human spam you can't stop at all. They haven't made any security measure that can deal with human spam. ...

Guest blogging only works if the site your guesting on is ranked better than your own blog. Unfortunately your blog OllEngg has no PR, and isn't even the top 30 million on Alexa, and only has 1 site linking in. Which means a guest post wouldn't get seen by anyone but you and the guest blogger.

I'm actually surprised at the lack of response from here. If you're serious about getting more traffic, better linkbacks, and more exposure you should be looking for sites, like mine, to participate on.

Unless, of course, you're waiting on that call from CNN or the New York Times to improve your blog ...
