The term Corporate Social Responsibility that was widely used in the 1990's now include Corporate Responsibility,Responsible Business and Sustainability. It refers to the Economic,Social and Environmental concerns of an organization that wishes to thrive in the long run. There has been significant shift in the way companies of all sizes and sectors now view Corporate Social Responsibility - Not only in terms of Risk mitigation and Brand Enhancement, but also in terms of Innovation concerning Social and Environmental factors, enhancing Consumer,Investor and Public relationships.
In any sector or industries projects impact the Environment and the Community. In relation to projects that are not inherently Green the role of a Project Manager becomes interesting. As all projects effect Environment in some or the other way a Project Manager can help mitigate that by considering the environmental effects of the project and also the product resulting from the project. A paradigm shift in the thinking of a project manager is desired here. For example, Instead of thinking just about the Environmental Impact of the Project during its life cycle, the consideration should be of the Entire Life cycle of the Product. This is because in products such as Consumer Electronics, consumption of resources is more during their actual Usage than during their development, production and disposal. Similarly an extended list of Stakeholders is much desirable.

Recycling can also:

2. Reduce your company's carbon footprint
3. Make your company money, as you can sell recyclables to waste firms
4. Make your business eligible for government benefit schemes

Cocoa has served the whole of humankind with its sweetness. It has benefited not just the tens of thousands of Fairtrade cocoa farmers around the world . but also has carved a niche marketsegment for itself..From the bitter frothy drink loved by the Mayans, to the family-size tins we squabble over at Christmas.
Information Technology related CO2 Emissions have been estimated to be more than 2% of the global CO2 emission levels.Furthermore, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that approximately 60% of all the electronic goods disposed are IT related.Hence while the CO2 emission of IT related products is important, considerations have to be given to their Intrinsic Environmental Impact,Operational Impact and End of Life impact.Good news is that each of these stages can be tackled with Green solutions to reduce the CO2 impact of the IT products.
Consider a job in Global Firms such as Accenture, Deloitte,Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and A.T. Kearney, Savvy ? Now consider a job which is a part of the Sustainability career, Better isnt it ?
There are 3 basic laws of Sustainable Product Design -

2.Minimize the Environment impact of the product during its entire life cycle.
3.Maximize the usage of Expended resources.
Green building combines age-old wisdom; tradition and collaborative design processes; and modern building science, technology and materials application.Modern construction causes unwanted environmental impact and limiting these impact is within the scope of Green Buildings.
