A writing 'enthusiast',an international volunteering 'freak' and a sustainability futurist.Through my travels in and around South East Asia,I have discovered that People living in Villages are much more Self sustainable and self reliant. Its the 'urban economy' and the frenzy attached to it,that draws them to an un-Sustainable eco-sphere.
Irony is,the tools we need to be Sustainable,we already posses them. Its just that we don't know it Yet,In Totality.

Hence,the Message - Sustainable Sphere.

BE SUSTAINABLE ..... BE GREEN and Healthy !!

http://www.sustainable-sphere.com/2012/07/a-green-guide-for-project-managers.html

In any sector or industries projects impact the Environment and the Community. In relation to projects that are not inherently Green the role of a Project Manager becomes interesting. As all projects effect Environment in some or the other way a Project Manager can help mitigate that by considering the environmental effects of the project and also the product resulting from the project. A paradigm shift in the thinking of a project manager is desired here. For example, Instead of thinking just about the Environmental Impact of the Project during its life cycle, the consideration should be of the Entire Life cycle of the Product. This is because in products such as Consumer Electronics, consumption of resources is more during their actual Usage than during their development, production and disposal. Similarly an extended list of Stakeholders is much desirable.

Does your business have a recycling scheme in place? If not, it's high time you implemented one. There are many benefits to recycling and not just the fact that it helps to protect the environment.
Recycling can also:
1. Give your business a good reputation as an eco-responsible firm
2. Reduce your company's carbon footprint
3. Make your company money, as you can sell recyclables to waste firms
4. Make your business eligible for government benefit schemes

Cocoa has served the whole of humankind with its sweetness. It has benefited not just the tens of thousands of Fairtrade cocoa farmers around the world . but also has carved a niche marketsegment for itself..From the bitter frothy drink loved by the Mayans, to the family-size tins we squabble over at Christmas.

http://www.sustainable-sphere.com/2012/05/green-information-technology-it.html

Information Technology related CO2 Emissions have been estimated to be more than 2% of the global CO2 emission levels.Furthermore, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that approximately 60% of all the electronic goods disposed are IT related.Hence while the CO2 emission of IT related products is important, considerations have to be given to their Intrinsic Environmental Impact,Operational Impact and End of Life impact.Good news is that each of these stages can be tackled with Green solutions to reduce the CO2 impact of the IT products.
