Bio

I'm a Respiratory Therapist and lifelong asthmatic, so I just figured that the logical next step for me was to start up an asthma related blog. I've learned many things during my healthcare career, but one that really stands out is: Most people don't realize how serious asthma can be. Eleven people die everyday from asthma is the United States alone, and an estimated 300 million people suffer from asthma worldwide! I think that deserves blogging about.

Seeing as there is no cure for asthma, I think my times is best served by teaching people how to effectively control their condition. I discuss exercise, proper diet, allergy triggers, asthma medications, treatments, natural alternatives etc. I strongly encourage the parents of asthmatic children to visit my blog, raising an asthmatic child can be nothing short of a nightmare...I know, I've done it. Hopefully through my advise I can help you avoid that "nightmare."

Hello Everyone,
I have an enormous favor to ask all of you. There has been a horrible act of animal cruelty in my local area that needs to get some viral attention. Anyone who even remotely likes animals will be totally outraged at this, just as I was. The family needs help from the public to make sure that those individuals who did this get what they deserve and not just a slap on the wrist. I've included a link to the original story printed in our local paper and a link to the petition site. I hope you find it in your heart to help by voicing your opinion.

I know this is a little "off-topic" as far as my blog is concerned, but I just felt that I had to do something.

Hey Ryan, My Avitar is symbolic of what it is like to have an asthma attack, or to have decreased lung function in general. I thought a set of lungs bound in chains really fit for my blog topic.
Thanks for asking :)
-Chris.

Thank you Frank, I really appreciate the vote, I will return the favor. I think everybody knows somebody that struggles with asthma and/or allergies so if I can provide info that helps just one person breathe better it is time well spent. Thanks again-Chris.
