David Trumble
My life may be different than most but certainly not more important because of this difference. After ten years of Combat Arms I still had not placed the importance of survival as a top priority.
Afraid I would regret, in my advance age, of not having experienced every angle of my interests I carelessly reveled. And payed the price. Still, I revel. Perhaps not so carelessly.
Eight semesters of college taught me that institutionalization was not for me. I felt that skiing, climbing and hiking were more of an importance in my life rather than serving the political-economic industry.
While living at Lake Tahoe I discovered freight trains and began riding the massive machinery all over the Western U.S. I was soon inaugurated into the Order of the Rose, an organization of hobo types and train spotters.
Love eventually struck me down and I became a member of the masses. The years passed in a fog of meaningless endeavors. Without children, what is life? My wife agreed so we bailed and bought a sailboat. We trashed our former life and sailed South into the Pacific. And here we are, in Panama, Central America, free diving and sailing in the Pearlas Islands.
Writing? Oh, yes. I must write, but why? Have you asked yourself? What need is there for an answer. Just write.
