Very ironic ,isn't it? When Japanese are asked about their views on GOD, their answer is either vague or philosophical. And your explanation for that is RELIGION DOESN'T PLAY A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE in the Japanese society. Is it because your society is preoccupied with making money and more money? Or is it simply your culture running on deep end?
I once had a Japanese student who chortled when I told him he's gonna go to heaven if he remains a good person. It's plainly ridiculous to him -the HEAVEN THING- and thinks it's a product of childish imagination.
All in all, I believe that Japanese are more concerned with ethics and high morals. I've heard many times from friends how they lost their bags and wallets in Japan and how surprised they were to have those lost items traced back to them. My golly, Japanese are one of the MOST HONEST race in the world. And I applaud your people for that!
Thanks for your kind words, Kim! I appreciate your views on Japanese society and religion, but let me tell you first that I'm not a Japanese (I'm living in Japan to pursue my Doctoral degree).
By the way, Thanks for posting a review of my blog. Hope that exchange of opinion will continue in future as well...
You’re welcome my friend. Thank you for visiting my blog, too. Oh, I forgot to mention, you write well. I have an engineer brother. The math wiz in my family but English is his “waterloo. “ Hush.. don’t tell on me, okay? (lol) Thanks goodness he’s not a blogger.:)
