Bringing home the puppy!
My boyfriend and I have recently decided to get a new addition to our house in the form of a cockapoo puppy!
After much searching we found a good breeder and went to see the litter. There were 5 in total, 3 boys and 2 girls. After little persuasion I talked my boyfriend round to putting a deposit down a little golden female cockapoo!
She is a cross between a cocker spaniel and a miniature poodle and as this is not yet a registered breed in the UK, are keen to seek advice from any other cockapoo owners/breeders.
We have never had a puppy before and are excited about the new family addition. However, we are both worried that she will destroy our house and are keen to learn how to socialise and train the puppy so that she is a well rounded little puppy who matures into a loving dog.

Awwww my lil puppy has now had all her jabs, is micro-chipped & got her new ID tag on........ready to face the world! I can't wait to take her for walkies! I bet she can't wait either, she's so hyper & cheeky at the moment! Definitely needs a walk to tire her out. The vet says to wait 2 weeks & then she will have built up immunity. Cannot wait! =)

We have now had Lola home for 2 weeks and she is fab! Toilet trained to only go in the garden! (I think having the crate helped with training!) and appears to be a contented although excitable little puppy!
We are taking her to the vets tonight for her second jab and to be micro chipped! Hope she will be ok!

I have brought some toys for Lola the puppy! =)
She has got some soft toys and some to chew on as it will only be a few months before she starts chewing things. I would much rather buy her toys to chew on rather than my shoes or belongings lol! Hope she likes them!

Today we have been thinking about buying a crate/cage for the puppy. We have been reading reviews on the internet and in books. It will apparently help to speed up the house training process and provide a safe, secure environment for her. Our house isn't enormous and so we wouldn't really be able to close her off in any way if we needed to. However, it does seem a little cruel putting an 8 week old puppy into a cage and shutting her in.
However, at present the litter and mum are all in a crate and the breeder recommends getting one.
Any ideas or pros and cons on getting a crate for Lola???
