We are a group of three 16 year old students who are interesed in the area of study of Law and Criminality, however ,our main interests are on the death sentence and people's perspectives on it. We live on a small island called Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean where the death sentence no longer exists and so we have never experienced it. This is why we are eager to find out about other countries where the death sentence does exist and how the community deals with it. We want to know, how do you feel about the death sentence? Do you think it should be abolished or not? Does the death sentence affect your daily lives?

So here's my opinion about this extreme and supreme penalty:
Death penalty is gruesome. It destroys human dignity and disregards human existence. Even the most incorrigible criminal always deserves a second chance...but society has a right to preserve itself and promote the common good. Hence, the imposition of the supreme penalty by the court rests on the most compelling reasons, i.e. heinous and odious offenses, like rape, murder, terrorism, and like crimes.
