I have a passion for Animals and I'm using this page to get the word out there that Orangutans need help. Thousands of Orangutans die each year because of illegal forest logging in Indonesia. These forests are logged for the mass production of palm oil. Once these orangutans homes are destroyed their young are normally taken and forced in to the illegal pet trade or into cruel inhumane circuses and the older orangutans are left to die. In Australia it isn't mandatory for palm oil to be labeled on food products so we don't know if we are consuming it. Orangutans are critically endangered and need help. If we keep going the way we are this beautiful species that we share 97% of our DNA with will be extinct in the wild in 10 years. I'm sorry to hear this. I actually thought that awareness of the Orangutans' plight had improved the situation.
