‘McDonald's and one of its franchise owners agreed to pay $700,000 to members of the Muslim community to settle allegations a Detroit-area restaurant falsely advertised its food as being prepared according to Islamic dietary law.’

This lead grabs attention because McDonald’s is such a popular company, so it is prominent because the ‘who’ of the story is well known and important. Additionally, Islam is a popular belief system so this would draw the interest of those in the Islamic community. If printed in a Detroit area newspaper, this article would involve proximity because the people close to that area would be curious, since they may have been directly affected or known someone who has been.
