Mah Boon Yih
Mah, Boon Yih is a full-time lecturer at Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Penang Branch, Malaysia. He holds two degrees: B.A. Ed. (Hons) in ELS and M.A. (Applied Linguistics). He is also an editor of refereed journals and reviewer of international conference papers. His research papers have been published in both national and international indexed conference proceedings and refereed journals. "Mah Boon Yih's Blog (http://mahboonyih.blogspot.com) has won him a Gold Medal in the 7th IID 2010 and ITEX Silver Medal in the 21st ITEX 2010. He has been selected as the biographees in "Who's Who in Science and Engineering 2011-2012" and “Who's Who in Asia 2012”. He is also included in “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century”, IBC's "Top 100 Educators - 2012", and "Dictionary of International Biography - 36th Edition". His area of research is language development through technology. Time, money, and dedication have been devoted to designing, developing, and investigating the pedagogical as well as commercial potentials of one of the most powerful Web 2.0 applications, blog, and its acceptance in different demographic contexts. His research on blogs is not only to bring awareness to, but also to cultivate the interest of blogging for both instructors and learners in order to maximize language teaching and learning capacities.
