Maiahs Mom
Up and coming Television Personality specializing in creative Fun, Unique and Original Arts & Crafts Inventions appearing on The Martha Stewart Show, February 18, 2009.
For the past (8) years, Cheryl Robinson, aka Maiah’s Mom has conjured up numerous innovative ideas and concepts as Owner and Director of Kid’s Crafts in Detroit, Michigan. She has successfully engaged and delighted thousands of youngsters, adults and families in creating a series of unique and completely original crafts. “Dubbed” The Jetsons of Arts & Crafts for originality, creativity and simplicity, she is often invited to develop and provide activities for Corporate Events, Non-For Profit Organizations and Private entities.
The idea for Kid's Crafts originated as a result of Cheryl witnessing her daughter Maiah at a very young age; assist her in completing a potpourri pie. “She could actually make it with "adult supervision." That led Cheryl to believe young children could do crafts far more creative than just cutting, coloring, pasting, gluing, etc. She realized children could make more "sophisticated" craft projects. In October, 2000 she began an arts & crafts program in her home and named it, “Kid’s Crafts.” The program met “one Saturday a Month.” Kid’s Crafts later became, and still continues to be, an After-School Vendor in Michigan.
In February, 2001 Cheryl came up with an idea for a pen and pencil holder that looked like a cup of hot cocoa. She called it, The Hot Chocolate Organizer. Her idea won first place (General Crafts Category) in Disney Published Family Fun Magazine’s Craft Contest. Her award winning creation was featured in the March 2002 Issue of the Magazine and in Family Fun Home. Her most recent success happened in November, 2008 when she was invited on the Martha Stewart Show to share her latest invention, “The Crafty Buffet Oven.” The show is scheduled to air February 18, 2009. Cheryl hopes to have her own TV Show entitled, The Crafty Buffet with Maiah’s Mom in the near future.
