― I grew up having bread with butter, cheese or cold cuts for breakfast. And I still love a good slice of homemade bread with something on it. Unfortunately, if you're vegan, the supermarket-ready hearty options (i.e. not the sweet stuff like chocolate cream or jam) are really limited. If you're lucky, you can buy ready-made hummus, but vegan spreads are either rare or way too expensive for being an everyday treat.
