― Happy belated Philippine Independence Day!! ∙ Sorry I'm late, but I had exams to study for and reports to do. Anyway.. June 12th was the day that the Philippines became independent from Spain in 1898. It's called 'The day of Freedom' and it's an annual national holiday in the Philippines. ∙ Every year, here in the Netherlands, we celebrate this day by organizing a Philippine picnic at Spaarnwoude, which is just 10 minutes driving from my house.
