I'm still studying @ La Verdad Christian College, 23 years of age and taking up Masscommunication. I love singing, dancing and playing drums. I love person who are in kind, honest, friendly and specially God fearing.

Culture of Impunity

What is the meaning of impunity? Exemption of punishment, penalty or harm. For me in media situation this culture is still arrived. Media practitioner suffer this situation because of their works, according to survey six more have since been killed during the ten months that the Aquino government has been in power. Three of the killings from July 1, 2010 to May 2, 2011 were work related, for a total of nine journalists killed from May 3, 2010 to May 2, 2011, among whom six were killed for their work. The killing brought us the attention of all filipino people. Like in maguindanao massacre they killed 57 journalist including UNTV journalist, crew and the driver suffered this continious killing of journalist.
The continous killing of journalist, indicate that the violence made not only in journalist but also the other sectors and their family not given good justice. The responsibility of media is to share the news not to kill, I wont go this case of impunity!
I’d rather to be die than to lie with people. The freedom of expression is not exist in the philippines because of the incident happened to the journalist.
In short the journalist live’s are not safety and also their family, does the democracy remains in our country? Thats my possible question doing this position paper about culture of impunity. I condemmed this continous killing! Because i want to be a media practioner someday, would it be happen?
