I'm a new SCUBA diver, trying to get my degree in marine biology. Like almost everyone else out there, I'm struggling just to survive (avoiding the bad luck that seems to follow me and my family). I'm trying to make my mom proud not by succeeding any other way than having a life that's more than "making ends meet". I'm not shooting for the sky, just shooting to not drowning. Because I want to prove to her that her struggles and sacrifices were worth it!


So my friend entered a picture of my dog into a cutest dog competition just for fun. And now I find myself actually trying to win! But I can't compete with the dogs that are there to donate to shelters or save New Orleans because I'm there to save my family first. I just want to get my mother out of debt. I want to get my grandmother out of debt and leave them both with money to survive because my 65-yr old mother should not be struggling any more and should not have to continue working because her social security benefit won't even cover rent! And I want to win so I can get out of school debt and survive. My second want would then be to help a nonprofit. But how do I make that happen? How would I get thousands of votes for a dog that's not out to save the world first?
