Kev Quirk
I currently work for Hewlett Packard in their Enterprise Security department as part of a team of security engineers that look after many fortune 500 company infrastructures, my personal specialisation within the team is Microsoft based systems and networking.
I have worked in the IT industry since 2005 starting off as an Information Systems Engineer in the British Army where I served for 5 years all over the world including Iraq & Afghanistan. Since leaving the Army I have carried on working in IT specialising in Microsoft systems and networking.
As well as Microsoft technologies, I have a keen interest in the Open Source community and more specifically the Ubuntu project. I try to give as much as possible to the community by sharing my knowledge where I can. I volunteer as a moderator on the Pinguy OS forums (an Ubuntu based variant of Linux) and I am also a contributing author to the Ubuntu Manual project. I also volunteer as an engineer for Protonic who provide free technical support to users all over the world.
I am the creator and owner of RefuGeeks.
