Poems For Life

Born and raised in Jerusalem, attended the Rosary Sisters School . After graduating, Renee decided to go to the United States in pursuit of a Bachelor›s degree in Political Science. After completing two years at Saddleback College. Nevertheless, committed to obtaining her degree, she applied to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem , where she got accepted and has been pursuing a Bachelor›s degree in English Literature since. Since matriculating in the program, she has discovered a passion for writing and poetry.
Her poems are inspired by the literary pieces and language she studies at the university, as well as from her own real life experiences. Her passion for modern music has also found its way into her work. Renee›s poetry deals with issues ranging from love, relationships, friendship and family to everyday life and the general issues one faces in the complex environment she has grown up in. It has provided her with both a channel and a platform through which to communicate her life to the world, and from which to grow and flourish.

Heartbreak
Renee Farraj ·
That little girl with the beautiful eyes
Woke up one day and faced the lies
The love, the promises were all a disguise
Today was the day she learned how to despise
Never before had she had her heart broken
She heard words in her life that were never spoken
She always though his love to her was a token
And the bond they had was just unbroken

Images in her head started to contrast
Reality hit her but unfortunately not too fast.
This heartbreak was her first but wont be her last
She wondered why is this pain inevitable
She wished it were just a fable
And all these memories were able
To disappear and make her again stable

Having your heart broken is humbling
It makes you speak louder, forget mumbling
It forces you to look reality in the eye, stop playing
Makes you want to have a grip on things, stop fumbling
It is painful, not colorful, and defiantly not gainful
Its is hard, excruciating, makes you want to pull
All the love, trust and strength you invested
In this experience that left you bare chested

Thank God for our broken hearts
It makes us feel the other surrounding beating hearts
Influence us to leave our pain and depart
The life we had and embark on a new start
That from the Beginning was a part
Of our life but we were too blind
To see we had love and friendship combined
So thank God for the heartbreak the helped us find
True love and had our whole experiences redefined

Once upon a time two strangers met
Down the street on a cold night
Words they exchanged
Sadness they replaced
Happiness for what it seemed a lifetime
They maintained
Goodbye they faced
Years passed
She met a guy
He met a girl
Both started a life of their own
But that love between them they never could disown
Both tried to move on to carry on
But memories could not be over thrown
Because Feelings are never a property to own
