RyMas
Ry Mas was born and raised in the south;she spent her early years listening to the vivid stories of her grandmother. She learned from Nana that a good story could change a person forever.
Ry studied art, photography, videography, journalism and of course literature, drama and speech finally earning a B.A. in Communications. However, she could not escape the allure of storytelling especially stories with that unmistakeable southern flair. And though she considers herself a rehabbing procrastinator once she began typing, she never stopped.
Though Ry is somewhat of a wandering gypsy she maintains roots in the Southeast where she can study people, and listen to their stories. "I meet new characters for my work everyday", she notes. Ry has written short stories and articles for various magazines and news outlets including the Jacksonville People's Advocate.
In addition to her love for writing and the stage Ry developed a passion for Yoga brought on by the personal transformation she experienced after taking her first yoga class. This passion led her to create the Urban Ashram a fusion of the art of movement, video and the written word. "The Urban Ashram should serve as a source of inspiration, community, enlightenment, and entertainment. I hope the work you find here will challenge you both physically and mentally!"
