Reaching out to the skies with words; racing through the cosmos with my imagination; embracing life with my soul; screaming for a vision called life!

I am a mongrel; in other words, a colonial child who shifts between modern and postmodern identities. Grew up in a small city-town in East India, studied in a private English boarding school and received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in International Studies/Relations from a private liberal arts college in the US and University of Bristol, UK respectively.

I have always been passionate about working for poverty reduction, child rights and women's empowerment issues ever since I was no taller than summer grass. I love sports and outdoor activities and am, as several people tell me, an enthusiastic painter and writer (of late though, I have become way too lazy; haven't picked up a brush in years nor written any significant piece of work apart from poems and work related stuff!). I love everything that has to do with the late '60s and '70s; particularly music that emerged out of the 'flower generation'. Floyd is my favorite! I love to socialize and meet people from across the globe. Bit of a romantic who fell in love with the concept of love ever since teenage days, but never was successful! Space is restricted, so will pick up the pieces as I blog along.

Till then, I want to say one last thing: I wish I paid more attention to science while I was in school. If I did, I would by now have discovered God!

We remember jasmines bloom across the Arab world.
We remember voices of dissent rise above the desert sands.
We remember faded revolutionaries coming alive once again to fight fear, hunger and exploitation.
We remember false prophets being reduced to mortal remains.
We remember dropping a thousand tears when the earth beneath the mighty Himalayas cracked or the deep blue oceans drowned our flesh and bones.
We remember crying for life when our loved ones journeyed into immortal embrace.
We remember our quest for eternity when we came so close to discovering God.
We remember crying and laughing, crawling and standing, and dying and living through it all.
We remember a time disappearing stubbornly into the past.
We remember a memory beautifully push its way through to our present.
We remember 2011.

Voices disappear into the womb of silence; dreams blocked by deathly nightmares; darkness stubbornly refusing to give way to a calming dawn. And yet, push yourself to horizons where you will find divine space and a soothing light. And continue to believe you will be that tireless soul transforming this ugly truth into a beautiful and timeless destiny. Simply believe!
