Suellen Carey-Clarke

I'm an ex-pat American living in Tasmania. I've lived in Australia for 33 years. I divide my time between my home in Tasmania and various places in the US--depending where the mood takes me. During a former life I worked primarily in the political arena and the health sector.

Having been a writer all my life, I have finally taken the plunge and written my first novel (a mystery/thriller, not yet published). It was my first attempt at fiction (unless you count letters home or political speeches). l'm now working on a second novel--humor this time--and I write a weekly online humor column just for fun and to keep my Muse happy. I travel a lot, and write about it, but am not a conventional travel-writer. I guess I'm not really a conventional traveller, come to think of it...

At home my hobbies include wood turning and other woodworking, a bit of silver work, quilting, looking after my chooks (chickens) and cooking. I'm not a gardener, but I do love having a nice garden if someone else is willing to do it...
I'm never bored, and not usually boring. I laugh a lot, and I seem able to get others to laugh along.

I am an environmentalist, a climate hawk, and an atheist, but am not concerned about others' religious beliefs (so long as I don't have to hear about it).
