Ex-CJI J. S. Verma termed the Vodafone judgment as one of the three controversial judgments “which are best forgotten or allowed to pass”.

He has clubbed this judgment with the one delivered during Emergency, which is often referred to as the lowest point in the history of Indian judiciary.
