Touche De Mode on Fashion, Style, Beauty, Art, NYC, Lifestyle

Hello!

I'am a NYC Blogger of www.TouchedeMode.com and my blog is a wordpress blog. I think it's twice as hard to get comments than Blogger. How do you guys convince people to comment on your post?

I think it is fair to say it is all about content. Are you writing to just state a fact or are you engaging the reader. I like to try and get my readers involved with the conversation, so to speak, just as if I am having a direct conversation with them.

Thank you! I would love feedback on that. I know that sometimes you wouldn't know how you write unless you get feedback. So if any of you would like to give me feedback on my blog www.TouchedeMode , it will be greatly appreciated!

Ok, you wanted feedback. I just took a very quick look at your post about Buffalo Exchange. You gave me some good details about what they were now doing, and what you thought.
Good content but I didn't feel the need to comment as everything was well put for me. I then had another look at your post about your 21st birthday, and saw nothing wrong with it, but it was complete and no need to comment as you was telling me fact. Nothing wrong in that.

Thanks so much for visiting! Would you recommend anything though?

I'm just leaving you a private message but remember I'm no expert , just my thoughts.

When you writing a post- try to think you're talking to someone- and explaining what you want them to know, and like we do in our real life- give space to tell them their opinions about it.

I guess, you should take your time to find some great blogs/posts which does having conversations you like and get your understanding from the engagement over their-

Good points here. As a newbie blogger (also in NYC) I am also looking to build followers and write features that readers will enjoy and comment on. Also using wordpress. I think it is also important to reach out to other bloggers and comment on their posts. It's like networking in a way, and a big community to exchange ideas.

Another small but important thing is- when you get a comment, try to reply- at least give a thank you note or say welcome.

Its a pleasing matter for both the reader and author then- a lot of people ignore it but I'm sure most of the time you like it when you got a reply for your comment on other blogs- so don't forget to do it.

Moonomo - great point! I am in ad sales for a living and always have been in a habit to write replys and thanks. It's common courtesy, and yes, it does feel good!

Like everybody said write like your talking to somebody. When you write an article ask questions, that will get people to comment on your post.

use "commentLuv" if affordable ( $67 Unlimited validity) . It really helps.

Hi, when I post about something, most times people will comment about products or clothes I've mentioned, but I so also ask their opinions, so at the end of my post I'll say something along the lines of: let me know if you have any favourite lipsticks? I end it with an open question, also, the more you interact with your readers the more they'll comment. Are you also commenting on other blogs and engaging with other bloggers?

Thank you everyone for giving me feedback! I don't really comment on other bloggers blogs so I should give that a try !

I'm also a Wordpress blogger, and instead of blatantly trying to get people to leave comments on my blog, I ask for feedback elsewhere. I think most people enjoy an interactive conversation instead of blindly leaving blog comments. My main portal where I spread my posts are on Twitter, and that's where the majority of my feedback comes from. Not only am I networking with other people, but I'm attracting readers I might not have found otherwise.

Ultimately, though, it depends on the content you post. Is it a simple statement or an opinion? If it is, how can you entice your readers to offer their own opinions? My blog focuses on video games, and I've learned that everyone in the gaming community LOVES to give their opinions on things... even when opinions are not necessary.

Focusing on a key group will eventually attract more and more feedback. You just have to produce good content and remain in touch with your audience. The comments and followers will come. It simply takes hard work and patience.
