Blogging Addiction Disorder (BAD)

Robert on Bad, Iad, Blogger, Blog, Addiction, Love

I first heard this term BAD in a friend's blog, kind of paradoxical topic - he wrote Blogging is an addiction while he must be one victim.

He compared blogging addiction to IAD. May be you are aware of IAD ( Internet Addiction Disorder). Its a rising topic ( http://allpsych.com/journal/internetaddiction.html ) .In short, People are getting crazy to stay online, sometime he is sick. Some people ignoring their family, kids, nature, travel and even food. Same is happening to bloggers. Some bloggers are busy 24 hours on blogs. Staying hours and hours with a unavoidable passion of typing and publishing is what they do.

Don't you think blogging is addictive, did you ever thought you may be silently suffering from IAD or even BAD?

I try to keep my "BAD" habits to a minimum! I get great joy out of blogging though.

thanks..

Mehers ∙ 13 Nov, 09

thenumber of ppl suffering from IAD is common but about blogging i don't know.i spent only one hour to read blogs andnjoy it.

I believe anything we do excessively is what I can call addiction. Before, I used to crave for more books to read. My suggestion is we need to exercise control in anyting we do. We should likewise know our priorities. If you do blogging for money, then we should allot more time to it, compared to blogging for hobby.

BLOGGING is addictive and does block life to reality. There is something compelling to stay on ; to search; to participate;and to go on and on. With a remote control in hand, one continues to flick and change tv channels, for entertainment. Similarity is here with mouse and screen. One has to set time; decide choice blogs and have discipline and practice self control.

blogging is not that bad,as per my view i just keep on everything into concern and hardly i spent half an hour in blogging so,i don't think it is a bad thing but some people find themselves involved in blogging for many hours, as there may be many reasons for them to do that,so i don't think blogging is a disorder!!

Ravleen ∙ 29 Mar, 10

WHOA!!! I don't need BAD!!! I just learned I may be DIABETIC!!!

Alexandra ∙ 31 Oct, 11

because of my work i stay online 27/7 since i have to, I spend hours and hours tracking and monitoring the people on our online biz... but sometimes there is really nothing to watch since they send us reports every two hours or so. then i discover blogging. I have a lot of things in my mind that i want to let it out but i can't talk to my computer, so i did chose to make a blog at least in there real people can read it...
It's my therapeutic!

Vivian ∙ 6 Mar, 11

O yeah...it's good to be "BAD" lol

Kira Permunian ∙ 12 May, 11

As I just shared in an other discussion that I have been blogging for about three years. I also think blogging can become an addiction. I have a job now but when there is no such activity I too spend to much of my time on reading and commenting on blogs.

During my teenage I used to be addicted to Cricket which is a sport. I used to spend to much time while playing, watching or talking about the sport.
Sport is good but addiction ?
It's apparent that English is not my first language, but if I am able to express a little , much of the credit goes to blog sphere.

Though sure it should not disconnect us from real life. My friends , my guests ,my relatives sitting beside me certainly deserve my attention lot more than a person sitting in front of digital display thousands of miles away from me.

Blogging has certainly helped many unknown figures who had no other medium of expression to be a part of educating and learning. But addiction is a problem. It should not effect our studies, jobs etc.

Since I am not posting every day I would say No. Personally, I think 99% of the "Disorders" out there are a scam to ring up more money for the medical profession. Of course, we are about to test that theory (BAD). Blogger has been down most of the day today. Like most addictions, there should be blogger withdrawal

Clouisehaden ∙ 18 May, 11

I'd say I don't suffer from IAD but my broad band provider would disagree as they've just charged me 3 times in a row for going over my internet allowance! Ooops...

As for 'BAD' I think anything can become an addiction, if it's not kept in check. I think if you suffer from blog addiction though, it does seem to ruin the quality of your material...

Pundit Commentator ∙ 30 May, 11

I am slowly getting addicted to the internet for sure. Blogging too. :-)

Prad B ∙ 31 May, 11

after reading all above, i think i am sort of addictive BUT i try to complete my daily things...If u can manage time and yet do everything in a 24 hrs span, then its OK..

Warren ∙ 16 Sep, 11

For me, blogging helps me put my thoughts in order and gets some weight off my chest.

Raiyan Enchaviz ∙ 16 Sep, 11

Nice... I never heard of that before? Good to know.

Aaron Angel ∙ 16 Sep, 11

Blogging can certainly become an addiction if you are not careful. :)

Thoughtnapkin ∙ 13 Dec, 11

I Am BAD!

JBangin ∙ 18 Dec, 11

I could spend days just editing posts, promoting, and checking my stats. I'm enthralled by it.

Mayura ∙ 18 Dec, 11

If there were no Internet or Blogging for us, I'm pretty sure we would be addicted for something else...

Natural Human Behavior... :)

Cheers...

Chouashley ∙ 1 Feb, 12

I don't think I have BAD so much as I have RBAD... lol "Restarting blogs addiction disorder". I find it hard to stick to a single blog or platform and I keep restarting.

Of course, this also applies to other things such as video games too... looks like I just have a fear of commitment...

Rob Dares ∙ 5 Feb, 12

I am definitely a blog addict. My day consists of writing blog posts, reading blog posts, SEO, working with affiliate programs, thinking about blogging, and sometimes just sitting here staring at the screen....when I go to bed I lie awake thinking about the next day's blogging plans.....yup. I need help !!!!!!
But I love it.

Fernan ∙ 22 Feb, 12

Not blogging per se, but the overall internet usage of a person. Addictive to the point that it's within a person's motivation to be in the net always...a habit.

Kemon Baca ∙ 27 Feb, 12

That's mean: The management time for blogging also you must have.

Tiger by the tail ∙ 6 Mar, 12

I get my blogging/pinterest/facebook/polyvore kick during the week and kinda disapear from the virtual world on weekends.
I tell my friends not to tell me about new sites because I don't want to get hooked on anything else! Thank goodness I never took to twitter ;)

Mikeandy ∙ 13 Mar, 12

I admit that people spending more time on net rather involving in any other activity and because of that very bad impact on body and mind is seen.

Zee Oh ∙ 24 weeks ago

not that i'm aware of, but i'd rather suffer from BAD than IAD. it's more productive than just staying online doing non sense cr*p.

Geeksware ∙ 18 weeks ago

Hey I agree that blogging is addictive to get diverted I divert myself to some other habits like playing outdoor, sitting with pets, Doing gardening work and aquarium cleaning....By this I don't touch my Computer for 1 week and after I will start blogging with a fresh mind.

Vel Murugan S ∙ 18 weeks ago

Its all about the way we formulate ourselves. Since the first day of sparing time for blogging, we should be noticing whether we lose any special things due to involvement in blogging. If do so, we have to sacrifice blogging in that time. Badly we do inverse of that :(

Chintu ∙ 18 weeks ago

I am a "BAD" boy.Really some times i forget to eat , hours and hours i spend time in writing and publishing articles and designing my websites.i was effected by health problems very much. But, now i controlled it very much and recovered.
my suggestion is -- all internet users must be punctual and follow the time thats it all we need.
Have a nice blogging.
