they can. Actually, my best friend is a male. I believe love must be always in a relationship, but there are different kinds of love, well, with our case, our love basically goes around our strong friendship.

I totally agree with you. I too opine the same that sometimes our best friends belong to the opposite sex, and love is an integral part of a strong friendship.

Yes. I believe they can. I get along with guys better than girls. With guys I usually know where I stand with them. I know if they are mad or annoyed with me. Girls tend to be manipulative and vindictive. I do have female friends, but a limited amount because of my low bullshit tolerance. Not to mention, a lot of girls don't want honesty - even when they say they do. I am blunt and honest. If you ask me if you look fat in a dress I will say yes if you do. I will tell you when you look beautiful, but I will also tell you when you look like a hot mess. Females tend to want guarded half-truths.
So, in my experience, yes they can be just friends. However, if my husband were wanting to buddies with his ex-girlfriend I may have a problem with that. Just friends or not. If she has seen my husbands penis I don't want them hanging out. LOL

Sure they can, I have seen it happen time and time again. BUT ,,, I also believe there are those rare times that a person will recognize the value and the heart of a person and if they are a match then they can become more than just friends. Although it would seem that it is more a probability that it will be a ONE SIDEDED LOVE

P.S. But No there is no obligated love just because they are friends. Remember the saying , IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE ? Both parties have to agree for it to work or it is lopsided no matter what the other feels. My son just went through that.

I've been just friends with many a woman. Its quite nice to be able to do such a thing, be able to rise above the animalistic carnality of sex, and just enjoy someone's company because they are amazing people. What sucks is, when people see that friendship in a different light, and think something else is going on.

I hate the fact that its other people's opinions that matter the most. I know that's how its always been. If they see a guy and a girl walking together, people think they are together. People assume too much, and it kills what could be an awesome friendship

Ofcourse....they can be the best friends but ......yes this cannot be compared to some other relationships & said that can be or this cannot be.....its a matter of time, emotional similarities, tolerance & unselfish affections towards each other which creates excellent relationships.....!

You can with some! A lot of my good friends are guys and I think if you stick out the random awkward phase of not knowing if we are just friends or what then it pans out. I think it just sometimes takes time to establish them on just a friends level. I've known one of my friends for almost 12 years now and we decided to date once, only lasted a few months and was horrible but we manage to just be friends a lot better than anything else.

Yes, they can. Most of my friends have been girls. Love may not necessarily come in, but yes physical attraction does come in. And it is very natural for a boy and a girl to have some kind of physical attraction. It depends on the individuals and the kind of friends they are on how much that attraction effects their friendship.

Yes of course! It's so irritating, because I always preferred being friends with boys since there's like no drama or bitching with them, it was always so laid back. But like everybody thinks there's something going on! Honestly, it's ridiculous, obviously for some people there is always that other attraction, but you do genuinely see it. You fall for who you fall for, you know? Even if they did fall for each other, it would be lovely because they're so close and already enjoying each others company. So i guess it just depends!

Yes they can be best friends for sure. One of my best friends is a boy too, and I'm a girl and it works. We are both in a relationship though (with someone else). Maybe that's a reason why it works. For me friendships with boys are easier and more relaxed, I really like that.

Yes, people of the opposite sex may be friends, however, if they are married the relationship must be respectful of the respective spouses.

My whole life I've generally had more male friends than female. And for the most part they were just friends.
