Having open source software available has made my situation of having no budget for development software, not even a problem.
I am using a GNU/Linux OS that had all the tools I needed to create my anime music video, and code an app for the Android OS.
Editing an AMV requires, a tool on par with Photoshop, which would be GIMP(.org), and a video editor. Everyone probably doesn't know, this, but all the Pixar films have been made with Linux, and so have movie, such as lord of the rings, and Avatar.
So, now my budget, can go all towards hardware, and anime (because, a music video isn't a music video with subtitles). My videos will be in 720p 30fps.
Check out my blog for the best AMVs, and a brief over view of the anime the music is played on. Anyone who browses the blog post, is guaranteed to pick a new anime series they haven't seen yet.
