There are some resolutions that pop up in most of our new year resolutions. They are so appealing that u can't strike them off, still they are so daunting that u can't fulfill them. ( Like going to a gym - any gym has the largest membership in the month of January :)
One of such resolutions is "Starting reading books / novels AGAIN" that I would really want to accomplish in year 2013.
Collage life has stripped off the art of reading for me. This year I would like to close my laptop and open some books (non-academic of course ) !!!
So why not just do it in moderation? You'll never know unless you try. Put some time aside, even if it's 1 hour over the weekend, and read a novel etc.
Ah, learning to cook is a must so that you can enjoy all those wonderful meals without the price-tags. Healthy eating and a good work-out = winning the marathon with long flowing locks :)
I did not make any resolutions yet.....pretty sure I won't stick to anything even if I did think of some...meh just going to have fun and stay positive :3
Maybe I would like to try to think a little for myself and try to enjoy my life a little more and not let work completely eat me alive! Ohhh maybe cut down on my sweet addiction.....mmm....naaaaa I think I will still stick to it...Yum!!:P :D
When someone works too much we say 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'. So make sure you get the balance right. Sweets in moderation is good, so just don't go tooooooooo mad, ha hah
Oh, it's naughty to blog whilst you should be working, so a quick slap on the wrists. Jobs pay the bills. But, at least you now have a good resolution to stick too. Happy Blogging after work Unknown.
@EmilyVee It's good to blog but not if it's keeping your from a good nights sleep. You'll feel better in the long run, with much more time to blog away. Hope you enjoy the New Year.
HMMMM, lets see, Rpd, I think for me it is to take the mistakes that I can remember from last year and post them on my reading wall so that everyday I will be reminded to go a different route this year. Remember the definition of insanity ? I remember telling someone once, that if my goal is in front of me and that if it seems that for every step forward I take I end up going two back, then the best thing for me to do to reach my goal is to turn 180 degrees. if then my pattern remained the same, then at least I would reach my goal but in a different direction or manner. I love these discussions RPD. keep it up my friend....Ted
That's a funny one - posting your mistakes on the wall so you won't do them again. Sometimes we do need to look at how we approach our goals in life. Coming from a different angle just may do the trick. I wish you success for 2013.
Ah, I want to become a better blog writer because I only started blogging in Jan 2012 and I want to try and perfect my own writing style. And I want to keep my blog interactive, so everyone can have a good say on the topics I discuss.
In the last couple of weeks I have started removing destructive friends from my life. I do this once a year. So I'm looking for good friends including cyber-online ones that are honest, upfront, respectable and reliable. I don't have many friends but the ones I do have a 100% loyal.
I would like someone in this world to say 'RPD I just felt like giving you a few million pounds as a gift'. Well, Unknown, you did ask me :) I could then make many people very happy.
If I think of anything else I'll come back and add it here.
1. Another year in recovery 2. Finally buy the new-to-me (but actually a year old) novel by James Rollins 3. Graduate the drug program I am involved in. 4. Continue to give back to my community by volunteering at The Donation Barn 5. Finding gratitude in my every day.
What an amazing way to mark such a milestone in your life. After the struggles you must have been through, looking back must only fill you with more determination to keep moving forwards and never return to those old ways. May the end of this 2013 find you even stronger and focused than you are now. Thank you for this inspiring comment.
I actually do not make NYE resolutions, but I always make birthday resolutions and as they are at the end of January..... I still have few weeks to decide what it will be :)
Actually I do not make Resolutions for new year or I do not have New Year Resolutions- :))
But lately, I've been thinking of spending more time with friends and attend events! And may be travel some new place! Being a workaholic- found this year just passed without noticing calendars!!
So I hope that 2013 is a very social year for you and you get to spend more time with family/friends mingled with going to new places. Happy New Year Moonomo
RESOLUTIONS are life's guidelines for a year ( and a total of years add to life's ambitions) . On a piece of paper, make that list of "What I Want Achieved in 2013?" . Pick 1,2 or 3 and break it into pieces and spread over 10,11 or 12 months. Fill the diary with the pieces as objectives over the coming months. Every month do and finish that little and as 2013 ends, your completed resolutions will stand before you. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT.
- end and publish at least 2 books - $1000/month or more ;) from blog - 2 interviews with entrepreneurs and bloggers/month - more free time for my friens and family
Wow, big goals but I'm sure you can achieve them if you're realistic with what you are capable of doing with hard work. I wish you all the best, and let me know each time you tick one off your list. Happy New Year Richblogger.
My main goal is to organize my time online to cut down on distractions, just so I can complete my daily tasks for my business. Our time is so valuable.
Distractions are the things that stop you achieving your goals. Time is very valuable and once gone, you can't get it back especially if you are trying to run a successful business. Wishing you the best for 2013,
Trying to get out running consistently. I'd love to be able to run a marathon at some point in my life, so no time like the present to start!
Other than that, this year I want to figure out where I'm going post-graduation. Whether I'm going to end up in Grad school or start looking for a job immediately. Both appeal to me, so its tricky...
Hard choice between Grad or Job, but I'm sure you'll make the right decision. I'd love to run a marathon but don't want to do the training... I like your attitude of 'no time like the present' so I hope to see your name in lights when the winner is announced and I'm not joking Rob - you can do it :)
MY RESOLUTION is to train and develop 100 mothers to start own party plan perfumes business and 100 families to enjoy healthier indoor air and life. Will it be simple? Not really. To keep both resolutions alive and successful and running parallel, no distractions or attractions must be allowed or entertained. REMAIN FOCUSED. .
The important word here is 'remain focus'. It's easy to start something but it's more difficult to keep it going and be focused all the way through. I wish you every success with your business plan for 2013.
No resolutions as such cz my mood and life changes almost everyday... Moreover, since childhood, I've noticed, more the resolutions, more are the chances to break dem!! :) I find it childish to have resoluitons... And I think i need to grow up... cz d world and peopla around me are changing... ;)
Things change everyday but I wouldn't say resolutions are childish but rather that people want to make a change or difference and resolutions can help at the start of a New Year. It works for some and not for others
Yep, it must be a really good feeling to have resolutions and at the end of the next year knowing that you achieved everything that you had set out to do. I really admire when people are that focused.
I don't think I've ever made a "new year's resolution". I can't see the point. If you need to do something, then just do it, regardless of the time of year. Years may be determined by the time it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun, but when each year starts and ends is arbitrary, so resolving to do something at the beginning of a new year is also arbitrary.
That's one of looking at it Dennis. I think you're a very strong determined person, so you don't need to commit this way (not that others are weak though). Some of us just have to set goals otherwise, things won't always get done.
I think sometimes people just give up when things go wrong instead of maybe trying it again during the year.
I made a point of stating NO LINKS or URLs here on this discussion because some of us want to keep 'bloggers' as a place to discuss things. This was due to too much spam, follow me follow you and such-like.
Maybe you missed the previous discussion we had about it. Hope no offense is taken.
