Do we REALLY need another FASHION BLOG?

MattTheRose on Fashion, Bloggers, Blogging, Life, Culture, Art

I've been a blogger for about a year now, and in that time, have been absolutely overwhelmed by the ridiculous amount of "fashion blogs" there are.

I get that fashion is cool and that many people differ on their definition of good fashion. But honestly, do we REALLY need another fashion blog?

Thoughts?

Post your blog and I'll take a look.

Oh well--" To each his own" :) You don't need to follow them if you don't want to...

by the way-check my blog--it's not about fashion! :)

If you are into that bubble of "fashion blogs" yes its tyring to see a thousand new blogs each day, and probably ten % are worth it... but well that 10% is the one who keep us blogging and searching, sometimes you get surprised.

I like fashion blogs where the blogger has a unique sense of style and portrays it through writing/photos, like the Man Repeller or Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook. Bloggers that simply "write about fashion," copy-paste information off other fashion blogs, or pretend to be people that they are not, are not my cup of tea. But like FliPinayWeeBlether said, to each his own!
But at the same time, the blogosphere is growing every minute and the competition is extremely fierce. So I congratulate those who succeed in the world of fashion blogging, because it's very tough!

I was disappointed by the lack of video game blogs here and surprised by the amount of fashion ones.

I agree with the fact there are too many fashion blogs. Unless one is an expert on a variety of aspects regarding fashion with a keen eye, a unique angle, and connections in the fashion world, then I'd be interested. Same goes for beauty sites.

Oh well. Cheers to everyone from Montreal, Canada!

fashion blogs are in rage because we are getting even more vain that ever, maybe because of the changing trends, what we have now will be over ridden by the new one, what we experience today might come back a year or two, moreover the fashion industry is so huge and not all girls know the how to's and everything, make up, dressing up, etc etc.

makeup and fashion blogs do seem to overpower just about any other category, but I have to admit some of them are my guilty pleasure. Sometimes I do like to look at them and see what tips or tricks they offer!

Of course 'we' don't really NEED another fashion blog, however, I think it's become more popular than ever now to operate one because, you have to admit, there is a market for it, and a few lucky people make a career from it. I think everyone else, with an exception to hobby bloggers, is just trying to become the next career blogger.

I´ll give my honest point of view...Im a lawyer by the way, so it might be awkward thta I writte a fashion and variety blog...
just as shops could look to many there are thousands who needs them...
global views are needed..the problem is when a few that becomes too many starts blogging about what they think is fashion...showing one more time the same thing and not giving a poing o view...some blogs are really good in this sense...they provide objective info...not just copy and paste from magazines...
fashion is not a vane topic...they way you dress influences how people treats you...it shouldn be ...but is a fact...just take a look to a job interview firts thing they have into account is your appeareance...
fashion is not frivolous, it provides jobs, and is a reflect of society at a given time

Some fashion blogs match my style and some don't. For me, it's more about the individual. I want to get to know them a little or see into their lives. I'm not a fan of pure fashion-only blogs. I need personality, too. But, if there's even just a little, it satisfies me :)

Ermmm same can be said for all other categories and answer is yes. Why? Unless you're subscribed to someone who copycats other people, you'll get a feel for their individual style and taste. To be honest, I don't think there is one other blog that is exactly the same as mine, at least not the ones I've seen, and that is just because I feel that I blog about me and the way that I am and dress and style myself. It might not be for everyone but that's okay. My blog link: www.dressedinthecity.com
