Do you actually need 3D to make a good movie?

I watched X Men-First class last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It didn't have 3D, but was a story well told , with decent graphics on screen. Made me wonder with the recent 3D wave, do you actually need 3D to make a good movie?

I don't think so. I have never seen a movie in 3-D, but I think it would actually ruin a movie for me. A truly good movie will not need 3-D. 3-D is no substitute for a good story and good acting.

No, I don't think so. I've seen a few 3D movies where it didn't feel like...3D anyway. I saw the Green Hornet in 3D...what a waste.

3D just maximizes the experience of the movie but a good movie is not necessarily in 3D.

Seems like this has been the trend lately. Personally it gives me a headache.
