I keep thinking on how follow me in bloggers help. I first thought it would give me a chance to read posts of blogs am following through mails. I realized they are not even updates on blogs that i follow. how then do follow me help?

I think it helps by influencing your rank based in "followers".
Also, there is a theory that "the more followers you have, the more popularity or at least the more recognised you re".
