Does the entire world really run on money ?

So far, in my life, I've learnt that everything in the world pretty much reduces to a simple economic equation. Money plays a bigger part in our relationships that we think, it sometimes is the driving force behind them.
I have seen families sustaining themselves because of money, and breaking apart for the same reason. 'Love', as we know it, also happens for money. Marriages have also been reduced to business deals. Right from the relationship between a husband and wife to a country funding terrorism, it happens for some or the other economic reason.
So I want to know what you all think - Does the entire world really spin on money?

Yes, but that depends on one's belief. For example, I don't believe in the illusion theory. And as far as thoughts are concerned, money influences those greatly too ;)

i am totally against the system of money actually ...this whole system is wrong from beginning ..
we had every thing in abundance ,its only this money system that is eating away the blessings of mother nature ..
till the money system prevails ,poor will keep dying without food ..
heres what i believe ,since nature is not the same ,so has changed the knowledge of humans ,technology and automation has to take over now to produce abundance ...

It depends on particular person. If you are greedy then may money does mean a lot.

It is not about what money 'means' to someone, it is simply how this world spins. If you don't have money, life becomes 100 times tougher.

Yes, but that's becoming philosiphical. Feelings, emotions and thoughts - everything can be pretty much controlled by money too, well, as far as I know.

I ain't do 'anything' for money and there's billions of people are same. You wont able to get 'everything' with money.

Unfortunately yes but it is also who you know.
But, love and friendship can make having no money more bearable. If given the choice of one or the other, i would choose the love and friendship which i am lucky enough to have. However, i wouldn't mind also having money LOL

Ofcourse the world runs on money because the peoples run after money .Every thing can be purchased from the Money Name Fame wealth etc, but u can not buy the ethics(Tahzeeb) that comes only from education and good upbringing rather thses things every physical things can be purchsed by money when money will be there you already have the muscle power.

There are NO ethics in today's society. It's all superficial and fake. If we uncover what's beneath those sheets, the world will be shocked.

tehzeeb v ta upbringing hi dendi aa...your society ,your parents or the people who influence you ,,,they all sustain on money to live ,,,money is in equation with every thing physical ,,,and physical means existence ...and existence means to be in contact with other physical things and contact means influence ,,influence leads to tehzeeb also ...

;) At some point may be each person started to believe that 'Money is everything'. And after while at some point same person realized 'Money is NOT everything' (I don't know if everybody does).

Money is essential for living in society. Outside the society it hardly has value. To earn little to huge you need 'intelligence' (the way might be good or bad) and to keep it you need that 'intelligence' too. If it's to answer whether world spin on money or not I would say NO because it's a weapon only (made by human) but not the brain.
Who has enough money would say 'Money is nothing' and vice versa. There isn't any power exists that can solve or let do anything you want or anyway you want it.
Each person face different circumstance due to culture and environment but "Living for money" doesn't good for anyone. May be due to economy somewhere some people forget 'Money is for better life only'.
It's my thought only, no offense. ;)

OIL - the source of energy converted to money and who has more money gives more ability to build more weapons. Oil to weapon, middle agent is that money. Goal? The 'power' or 'money'?

EVERYTHING IS MONEY.Air and water.......both from nature is money. Birth is nature. Is delivery of a baby free? Think charity! To begin that charity fund, you need money. Abba Group sang well....Money! Money! Money!... Everything in life is with money. Even in choosing to be a volunteer, you need money.

Yap. Everything cost money. Even to give speech it cost money, to gather person who would listen and/or the medium. Money give freedom or power to do a 'lots of thing', most thing you wants. Agree on that.

I mean most of the things now adays is run by money.
However, there are still things that we could do and be happy without spending a single cents. The odd thing is I'm having a hard time naming one now.. LOL.. Anyway, money is important but it is not just the basis for us to survive and to enjoy life. We should learn to live in balance!

@Moonomo: And how far does one go after being excluded from the \'society\' ? The importance of money is understated in organized societies, but they all have it underneath. I\'m talking purely from a realistic point of view. Think of a hypothetical situation - You have very less money, which can hardly sustain you for 2 days. Tell me what you will do then. You think the society will help you?
No one lives for money. All of us, including me, are in pusuit of happiness. But how do you attain that happiness? Yup, money again.
The point I\'m trying to make is that it is practically impossible for anyone to move an inch without enough Bank balance.

@Thiruselvam K: So true. Even if you want to feel the happiness of holding your infant in your arms, you need to have money to have him/her delivered in the first place. So it all boils to money.

I wish I could say that money isn't everything but it does make one's life much easier and the lack of it makes life much for difficult. Those with money have an easier time and less stress in their lives. However, even those with tons of money who do not have their heart filled with love from others - will be lonely. But then again, NOT having money can add stress to a loving relationship. Yes, my answer has gone full circle but I think that is the reality.

Can you buy everything with money?May be not but our external world depends on money! If our external needs are fulfilled then we can think about the internals! I'm a bit impractical person!And I'm not at all ashamed of that!I know I may go to difficulties in future!But I don't care!I want to follow my heart only!So I'm OK with my happiness!I love my smile more than money!So if it comes between the two then I'll choose my smile!My world may b doesn't run by money!HA HA HA!

Two points I'd like to raise:
(1) There are still people who don't live in a monetary system (tribes in the Amazon, or in Africa, not many people, but no money at all); in those systems they do trade.
(2) How can animals live without money?! As far as I know we're the only species with such a tool. Money is here only to help with trade, but when countries decide to allow for devaluation at any rate, then the concept of money loses a lot of sense...
