February 2, 2010; I Don't Think People Ever Change

Today, I received a phone call from my ex. Now the choice to end our relationship was mutual. We still remain cordial to each other; and doing such, we speak to each other at least once a month.
He invited me to attend a Black Tie function with him. Now I agreed to go because I need I want to surround myself with a different group of people; and this would be the perfect opportunity. However, I just made a settlement agreement with a credit card, I have several dental appointments lined up, and then I still have my monthly bills. So needless to say, financially it's impossible or it'll be really tight.
Now here's the drama of it all; he offered to pay for my dress; however I don't think people ever change. I attended 3 weddings with him in the past; he said that he was going to buy the dress then and never did. Should I go; pay for the dress myself? Or see if he's going to finally stand by his word?

Thanx! Yeah, I'm not going to go if I have to buy my own dress. I'll let him know on Friday.

Well my ex touched base with me earlier today to see if I've made up my mind about the event. I told him that I just didn't have the money; that was about noon time. So I just got a text from him telling me to just pick out the dress and that he has me covered. I'm going to do ask he asked, and let's see if people ever change.

People do change, but usually we think we have the power to change other people. The only person one can change is one's self. Also stop doubting, the less you doubt the more you recieve and the more fulfilled your life will be. Pick your dress if he says he has you covered, he has you covered.
