Across America firefighter are killing themselves in record numbers and research is starting to show that job stress combined with alcohol and drug abuse are leading causes in these suicides.

With my blog I share stories of my personal experience with alcoholism and suicide. I try to entertain, but more importantly I try to reach out to other emergency workers who are suffering and hope to provide them a place to come and learn they aren't alone.

Who saves the lives of the life savers? Please read my blog and offer it to anyone you may know who might need help. I also do public speaking on this subject and am involved in some organizations that are reaching out to clinicians involved in the treatment of emergency workers to help educate them on this subject.
