"Global Warming"

LA Green

How many people think, we are the cause of our planet having warming temps? Sometimes, I think it's us...but then again, I think, the planet might be going back to an old climate....It seems new to us but actually its not. What's your view?

It's totally all our own fault!! These warnings have been given for years and we decided to turn a blind eye and just ignore it .. no only are we suffering with strange weather conditions, we have natural disasters and animals are suffering because of us.

I agree that its mankind destroying this planet but I also wonder about it. I mean, this planet has been through three or four different ice ages? And were currently still in the last one...the last Ice age that started some millions of years back . lol I suck at names of these ages....my point: The earth was warm before these ice ages...I guess the question is, which is normal a warm planet with no ice or a planet that's cooler then usual? I mean to us, this is normal. If you have been on this planet for even 9 years, your use to this climate.

Since our planet has been through multiple changes, do you think the planet is naturally warm or naturally cool? I think our planet is naturally a warm planet. I blame us but at the same time, when volcanoes erupt, they throw twice as much pollution in the air then humans do today. Seeing that Volcanoes have been around for quite some time, it makes me wonder, are really to blame? What's your opinion?

Are we the one's to blame for this or can this problem of a warming planet be the planet going back to it's roots? It scares us because were not sure. I mean what if hurricanes were this stronger then what they are today, when the dinosaurs were alive? We have no actual proof to prove that but I do know one thing, the planet was warmer and all water when the dinosaurs were alive; almost similar to today. The real question is, are we aging the planet faster then we can adopt? Because I think this is natural for the planet to warm back up; I mean were are the third rock from the sun so for us to be a cooler planet would be odd? =/

Hmmm. . .Interesting LA. I do believe I am going to look you up on fb. You fascinate me. I have never looked at it that way. I can vaguely remember something from science class all those years ago. Something about our planetary climate being more like a jungle climate. I don't remember exactly and I am too lazy to google it. Anyway, you may be onto something. If that is the case then we are soon to be covered in ice again? Humans are adaptable. But, we are more spoiled and pampered than we have ever been before. I imagine that, if the current trend persists, only the strongest would adapt and survive. The people who are used to harsh climates and hard lives.

G’day LA Green

The fact is that this planet is just going through another climate cycle which has happened many times before however & it is a big however we have obviously sped up this cycle many times over. For starters never has there been so little forest on this planet since the dawn of man plus you add all the manmade additives you have a very volatile & deadly mix.

I know a number of farmers & when the topic of climate change comes up they are all saying it’s a natural process until I mention about the forest thing, they have no argument against it!!

Trust me I'm not that interesting on FB. lol On FB or MS I'm mostly about advertising or posting funny pictures; something I would do here but the crowd is much more different here. If I'm correct, I think our planet is a warm planet originally. It's hard to tell when looking at the science of things because like you said, we adopt that includes are plants and animals so it makes it hard to tell. But here's one sign that might help us... Polar bears are evolved grizzly bears. hmm...it could be a sign as to what the planet was before. Meaning grizzly bears are found in climates that aren't tropical nor freezing cold; somewhere between. Ice is not a dominate factor on our planet; there should not be a section of the planet that's frozen all year around. The north pole is a step back to the heart of this planets Ice age, while the tropics are a look at the dinosaurs climate...so as of now, we have two combined eras of climate.

lol @ Mathew I agree with what your saying because it's odd that the United States and other country's at the same latitude are stuck between two EXTREME climate zones. I think man won't destroy this planet, I think man will destroy themselves and the planet will adopt to the destruction thus birthing a new specious that will be able to survive such conditions; of course these new breeds will probably be of man to some extent; it will probably be something almost of alien form to us. Unless in technology, an invention comes about that will help us adopt. But I do believe that we are destroying faster then were adopting. We can not put a complete stop to it but what we can do is maybe alter our lifestyles; try using what the planet is giving us instead of chemicals that are not suppose to be touching the surface...at a high rate....of course there are certain gases with in the earth we can not breathe in yet somehow, I'm pretty sure, most the stuff we throw into our water drains is probably worse. lol

Yes I agree LA Green that mankind will evolve into something different but of course it doesn't have to, if we did the right thing we wouldn't have to evolve into some alien form to cope with a toxic planet. Good one mate.

LA Green ∙ 17 weeks ago

we should not have to evolve but Its bound to happen. I think our planet is going to go through changes which is going to force us to evolve; pollution or not.

The temperature of the earth fluctuates every now and then. Although it is very important to conserve energy and reduce waste--especially CO2 emissions--I think it is ironic that after an emphasis on global cooling a few decades ago, the 21st century has emphasized global warming.

LA Green ∙ 17 weeks ago

@ Amy...I think its confusing for us. Were technically at the end of the last Ice age which would make most scientist believe the planet is getting warmer; I guess the understanding behind that would be, a planet once covered in ice has two regions that are covered in ice and everything between at warmer temps then the evidence. I think the planet is naturally a warm planet but like you said the temps of the earth fluctuates so it become tricky when trying to determine what path this planet is on. It doesn't help that hurricanes appear to become stronger every year; which can be fueled by a warming planet.

LA Green ∙ 17 weeks ago

Food for thought: What if hurricanes have always been stronger then what we think? I mean mankind didn't record everything in history. The highest ranking of a hurricane is a category five; personally I think they might be six and possibly sevens. Sorry for those who are in hurricane areas. I don't want to scare you but make you more aware. I won't be surprised if in the next 10 years...actually next 3 years or so they add category six to the chart.
