So I need some help! I have some great things on my blog, but I am not getting the traffic I need to survive if using my blog for income. I also don't know if I am using my blog how I should to receive income through it. Even if I don't earn money I would like people to see and read my blog because I love doing it. SO any tips on how to improve my blog and get more traffic? I would truly appreciate it.
Your blog's SEO is almost zero. You have a lot of external links but don't have inbound links. If your blog is not visible in search results, how you can get traffic? Secondly, you should post such content on your blog for which people are actually searching.
Ya I have no clue how to do the SEO thing? So your correct there for sure. Not sure what you mean about posting content people are actually searching though. Thanks Much
Hi, outdoors gal - I had a look at your blog and a few things strike me about it: 1. Lack of content - you have only 21 visible posts on there!! I have over 1,000 posts on my blog. Lots of content helps you rank higher. 2. Your own domain - seems you are using blogspot - lots of advertisers etc. will take you more seriously if you have your own domain. Like a dot com address. 3. Navigating your blog. - with no menu or dropdown option at the top people won't hang around long. I can't see a top menu. I learnt these things from experience, you can have a check of my blog if you wish or message me as i too used to think the same as you.
Hi Jonny. What a fun blog you have. 1. Lack of content is because I started my blog recently and don't post everyday yet. 2. I did buy my own domain but don't know how to change it yet without changing my blog completely. 3. I took your advice and now have a Search this Blog box at the top of blog. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to write this. Happy Travels :)
Just a warning that might help you not make too much mistakes while you experiment. Be very careful when you start to build links to your blog. You might build too many and do them to quickly and get penalized. Be sure to read the most "recent" guides, the post panda/penguin ones when you do your SEO research.
Some really safe ones I use for building links are hubpages, squidoo, and ezines (not as much anymore). They have better quality control so google likes them and links from them are often enough for me to get to page 1 on google (I run a locally targeted blog so i have less competition). Guestposting is also a great way to build links.
Also you have way too many adds on the sides for your blog for my taste. It might be better to lessen them and make it easier for your readers to navigate through your blog. This way they'll stay longer and if you put out good stuff, you have a better chance of convincing them to share your posts.
