Has Anyone Done a Volunteering Gap Year?

haha yooo!
No I didn't have a gap year I went straight into uni and powered it through BUT a lot of my friends who studied with me took gap years and by the end of the gap year most of them decided to not go to uni and the couple left who did go, a handful of them failed or dropped out due to lack of motivation 8S
In the end its up to you if you want to take a gap year as it does give you a breather from study and you can probs get so exerpirence in the working world... but if it was me... noooo to take it! XD

Oh no I have been working for 6 & 1/2 years now, it's more of a personality fix than a break though. I have never been to Uni though as I wouldn't get in (didn't do a levels just did a year of a college course and then went into the world of accountancy). Thanks for the heads up though :-)

i know someone who did a gap year. he ended up not going to college anymore but he is now successful in his field. that goes to show that the level of education is not the only thing that will determine your future! :D
my other friend is taking a gap year since she didn't think that she was studying the right course. she's halfway into the gap year right now and she seems to be doing pretty well-- volunteering, traveling, self-reflection. :)

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't expecting so much negativity around gap years but at least one of your friends has something positive from it :-)
