Actually,the question itself is faulty from objective point of view but still I ask u for ur subjective opinion.
Is God a matter of faith or a derived concept?
Any means to connect him or prayer & all is just a daily ceremony to make us calm & peaceful & most importantly how can u make ur children realize that....!
To reason is a sign of a rational human being but still his mind remains restless. This proves the inferiority of mind & superiority of some other entity above it.Enlightened ones explored & named that entity as soul & gave purity & peace to be its real nature. But then why we all r so tensed & upset with situations daily?
It is because we have started to live in our senses & forgotten the existence of intellect & soul.The senses desire gratification day & night & we cannot resist because in the passage of time we lost our control over them & hence our real nature is subdued.
God is the ideal for us,the state of total perfection & we look upto him for everything we want & we believe he will grant that sooner or later but do we ever think from his prospective & the quality of our own thoughts & actions?
Here the quest begins for the search of truth.

It proves nothing of the kind, because your first sentence is an assumption, not a fact. In fact, you state the existence of God as a fact when it too is an assumption. You might want to learn more about logic.
I've been told that I'm not a very logical person :)

Oh, and I will tell my children my beliefs and encourage them to turn to God, but let them decide for themselves. What else can we do?

But in the end part of ur comment u gave a fair display of logic.On basis of ur survival & prosperity u can understand God.Fine, there is nothing wrong in it.Its ur personal perception about the infinite & ur link to connect him but that can't be generalized for many as God is not a tool to gratify ur needs & desires. He is a higher & perhaps the highest realization of ur identity.
Then u gave ur helplessness to provide anything other than the knowledge of moral values to ur children but before making them understand that u have to first follow ur own for u can only give that what u possess friend ....!
I don't want my children to believe just because I tell them to. I tell them all that I know and let them make up their own minds. That is the point of faith, is it not?
U r open to logic Natasha that's fine but u cannot defy ur own insights & aspirations for ur children to follow ur experiences & wisdom but the problem is the approach & that can be understood. Fine!

...but still ur way of thinking seems blurred to me....I think u did not get me friend ....to reason is not an assumption for a human being....its a clear fact....the intellect argues for everything we percieve..
