as they say "riches get richer and poor gets poorer" in our system , is it possible to limit the material wealth of an entity ,if it is limited what could be the consequences ... positives and negatives ?
i don't think there should be a limit of what one should own.This would be like limiting one's potential.i think People should be encouraged to make more and more since it has a positive impact eg job creation
ya rich is becoming richer and poor poorest ... without limiting material wealth we can bring awareness... if both sides people are pure they can change fortune....
if the resources were properly allocated by the government, there will be balance in terms of material wealth..if that happens, the poor will not become poorer.
I do believe that there is always something JUST for the poor, but the problem is the greed of the people who has the power to use these resources. Scarcity arises if the wealth is not properly allocated. Limited supply to unlimited demands will remain unsolved unless the greediness and corruption will vanish in the system
people who have resources will use these resources to increase there private wealth at the cost of those who have lesser resources and lesser opportunities to be the owner and hence remaining an employee to be exploited .
in end the the richest will have monoply and control the functioning of government like they do in current scenario..
governments favor the riches because in elections the funds come from these big corporate houses only
socialism had an answer however failed ..i want to talk about socialism as well
i still feel socialism is reasonable theoretically
True. Personal interests always take place especially with the government people. Who are the only poor who instantly become rich in an instant?=the gov't people. Even the taxes paid by the poor people supposedly intended for infrastructures and economical developments were all in their pockets.
It's not really a big deal if these rich people gets wealthier because of clean business. Let them be rich as long as they won't be using the poor as their sacrificial lambs.
All forms of government work in theory. None of them have worked in practice. Anarchy would work, in theory, if all people were inherently good. Every form of government has worked for a while, and eventually failed. Like all things in life, change and adaptation is necessary. No archaic doctrine or form of government will carry us into the future. The world's current situation should exemplify this.
fact is i am too young to know about consequences and results of different sytems like capitalism and socialism
but what i know is ,,our current system is flawed
In the United States (I'm unsure of other countries tax systems), there is no flat rate tax. The federal tax increases depending on which income bracket you fall into. The "rich", for example, pay nearly 50% in taxes. I'm in the 33% tax bracket. There are argument for an against such a system. Since I am no expert on the matter, my opinion won't hold much weight.
ya in every country tax rates vary according to income
but even then for lower middle class and middle middle class
life gets difficult
another thing ,rich can send children to better expensive colleges and better future ,where as poor must satisfy with low level cheap institutes thus unsure future
Thanks. I do think everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, when talking about a serious subject, it's better to have a well-educated opinion. If my opinion is based on misunderstandings and false information, then it's safe to say that my opinion will have no merit. haha
@gurpreet:
absolutely! the current system is a total failure!
@bruno:
that's true, taxes are based depending on brackets..
yet, it's a fact that only a portion of their wealth is declared (on w/c their payments are based)..
Yes, but how much of their wealth can they hide before the authorities get involved? If I own a million dollar mansion and a Ferrari, I have to at least report that I made enough to have those things. I also have to report that I had enough left over for living expenses. The biggest way many rich people avoid paying taxes is by putting that money somewhere else. They will donate millions to charities, for example. No matter what, that money has to go somewhere. The truth is that the rich pay the majority of the taxes in the United States (I can't speak for other countries). The problem is that the middle/working class are affected by taxes the most.
WHY LIMIT LAND OWNERSHIP OR SET CONTROLS AND LIMITS.The industrious individual who works that harder and smarter, gathers more than the others. So do not hamper productivity and restrict growth.
Rewarding hard work is one thing. Rewarding greed and corruption is another. This is why it's difficult to set limits on these things. The abused will say that the corrupt are getting away with everything. The hard-working will say that they earned what they have.
Does anybody reward the greed and corruption or do the
greedy and corrupted make their own laws and enrich themselves wrongfully. The hard working people earned their rights. Where it is wrongful acquisition, those who know and condone are equal culprits. The biggest idiots are those on the know and choose to pretend than to act against such characters.
And who's going to stop the corrupt? Who will hold them accountable if they can control everything? Every current system rewards greed an corruption. Greece was lying about their debts for years. Now, they are on the verge of collapse, and the rest of Europe may follow. Bribery is illegal in the United States, yet President Obama went to various states to ask officials what he could "offer" them to get their vote for his health care reform bill. How do I tell the police to arrest the President? Rights, by definition, are not earned. They are, by default, given to everyone. Privileges are earned, but not always by working hard.
