Have you got a blog host? If not, then the best free ones seem to be Blogspot (Blogger), WordPress or Tumblr.

Have you got a theme? If not then you might like one to have one general theme to blog about.

Otherwise, once you've signed up to say Blogspot(Blogger) then there's plenty of tips on the site.

Hi LionessPride,

Its a big question and requires a complete ebook to answer your question completely. But for beginning I wish to suggest a few points here. Hope you'll carry on as you start.

To begin blogging there are a few things you need to consider first:
1. The purpose of blog - Amusement & fun, promotion of your products or webpage, make money online, online business?

2. Domain name - This is the name of your blog users will type in address bar of their browser. Though there are subdomains freely available when you register to the blogging sites, but I strongly, STRONGLY suggest to invest around $7-12 to get your own domain name. This is really your asset in time. I use Godaddy and DomainRightNow to register domain names.

3. Free or Paid platforms
For a starter free platforms like blogspot.com, wordpress.com, tumbler.com can be suggested, however, if you want to go for serious blogging the self hosted wordpress is the only platform anyone can suggest. If you want to go for free platform register an account in blogspot and add your domain name. So you'll have your own URL with blog hosted on blogger.

If you can afford paid platform, you can go to wordpress.org and download the recent version of WordPress to upload on your host and install it there. Depending upon hosting provider, you may get link to install Wordpress directly from your hosting account without download and upload the wordpress.

4. Hosting
When you decide to have your own self hosted blog, you need web space where you can install wordpress and store your files to be available for internet users. This space is obtained by purchasing hosting account. I prefer HostGator as it is the most reliable and best service.

After you have all these, you can set up your blog.

I strongly suggest you study blogging first and take it slow. Discover what you want your blog to be about and don't get obsessed with it. Study though.
