Well, I say that if someone happens to come across your blog for whatever reason, if your content is not only good but also what they are looking for, you will get genuine followers. It also depends on how you also promote your blog, whether you have a niche etc...
I feel genuine visitors come from search engines and they come in search of genuine content. If think bloggers who really follow your blog wish that you too do the same. It's similar to what happens in real life where the relations depend on mutual interests and understanding.
At the beginning follow me follow you bloggers (if they really follow) can provide you energy to keep writing more posts for at the initial the stage there are very few visitors from search engines.
I don't think those with personal blogs need visitors from search engines.
It's much harder to get targeted traffic than I thought it would be. I just started blogging about 3 months ago. Even if I had an advertising budget, I'm not sure what is the best way to apply that money, with all the bad products out there.
I bought some advertising, but in the end, could only hook very few. I'm come to the conclusion, this game is a marathon, not a sprint. You need to gain good solid followers over time, and hopefully your content is so good, they must share it.
Write an article, a good one every two or three days, and that just one more web page logged, that could be targeted by someone using a search engine. I'm also just going to read great blogs, and comment on them.
There are lots of ways to have a genuine follower, though quite a few guidelines as I observed as a Member of Bloggers[dot]com for the past 6 months and more.
- The Best blogger should have a true and not fraud profile information.
- A Great blog must be a very genuine and not "spammy" type blog:
a: Design should be professional looking.
b: Good Content (Should be enticing)
c: Branding (What part of the blog that attracts readers or followers?)
- A Good blogger is also a good reader (Not a copier)
- A good blogger should also follow other blogs as others follow you.
- Lastly, Be an inspiration to others.
