Hydraulic fracturing

Mathew on Hydraulic, Fracturing, FRACKING

Is hydraulic fracturing a good thing or a bad thing, yes or no keeping in mind it does help the economy but it also pumps toxins into the ground which sometimes rises up to the surface plus it pollutes ground water which is used by many?

Look at what youtube has been posting about The Navy's New Future Map and see what they are expecting to happen here in the United States. That will be due to fracturing in it actually happens. it is interesting to say the least.

G'day Teddy

Are we void of a brain or what? I thought science was supposed to be logic in thought, there is nothing logical about this.

G'day Cecilia

It's an awful mess, we have polluted the skies the land & know in force polluting the ground water & the oceans at the same time but so many think that fracking is OK!!!

I wrote up just recently on my blog about how modern day science is going down the same road as the churches did in the dark ages, the churches messed up quite badly through power & wealth & so is science today without thinking of the consequences; however the big difference is in the tools they use to wipe ourselves out with. If the churches in the dark ages had the tools including weaponry like we do today we wouldn’t be here today I believe so what’s the difference between science & spirituality again??

Yup ,,, I know , but the question is , WHAT IF then, it will be HOW .
now you can explain to me why the navy would draw up a map if it wasn't feasible. check this with other sources and see if there is a correlation with the predictions AND if it can be induced by a nuclear underground explosion. and then what purpose would it serve. I wouldn't even consider this if it weren't for some paperwork that I've seen. The very best thing you can do is NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES AND SAY, it can't happen. man couldn't fly according to some a few years back. it was impossible.

The link below shows a few interesting facts about hydraulic fracturing & other mining ventures as well.

In the end, no matter how you read the stats, if its done carelessly its a huge problem. Fact is they put toxic chemicals under ground that makes an explosion which creates a gas pocket that they drain. But what if they hit a water supply? What if its too close to a water supply and it drains an aquifer. Its dangerous on many levels, and could be so much safer. But the US completely deregulated the industry, and they have no government oversite.

G'day A Brainless Nod

It's utter lunacy, I thought science worked on the principles of logic? I 'm into science & spiritaulity & spiritaulity seems more logical to me becauase it tries to preserve life not distroy it.

Mathew, you are confusing science, which is morally neutral, with how that science is applied (i.e. technology). As for fracking, it's been around since I worked in the oil industry in the 1960s, but then it was used in remote locations like the Sahara Desert, where you couldn't pollute the groundwater if you tried (it was twice as salty as seawater, and so saturated with hydrogen sulphide that you smelled of bad eggs after a shower).

The problem with modern-day fracking is that it's now being used in inhabited areas. Don't blame the science behind it but mankind's insatiable appetite for energy and plain human greed.

G’day Dennis

Science should be neutral within its moral & ethical structure but big money can & does change these attributes within many things including the ethics of science, it was through science that the atom bomb came about, it was through science that biochemical warfare is now possible & so on & so on. Don’t get me wrong I don’t certainly put all scientists in the same category just like I wouldn’t have put all spiritualists in the same category in the dark ages but like some of the clergy in the dark ages some scientist just don’t care about morals & ethics when it comes down to the pocket &/or their status.

The problem is hydraulic fracturing has evolved & is now using different techniques to fracture the rock which is more affective but somewhat more toxic than it used to be I understand plus the fractures are bigger which can leak into ground water & even the ocean through fissures, underground rivers & other forms of underground orifices .

I really don’t blame science because they are only doing what they are paid to do by the big boys, if one group of scientist refused to be a part of this they would just find another group that would.
